From Welsh Rings to the World Stage: Cory Jones Goes Pro

International Welsh boxer and rising star Cory Jones has officially stepped into the professional arena.

Cory, from Wrexham, who has been boxing since the age of eight and has rapidly gained popularity and interest from boxing fans in recent months. Jones has enjoyed a lot of success at amateur level as a five-time National Champion and International Boxer for Wales.

Now, at the age of 20, it's a new chapter in Cory's story - He's now stepping into the spotlight and entering the world of professional Boxing.

Cory is very grateful for all the hard work and learning he gained from Welsh Boxing. On his Instagram, he said "I would like to thank Welsh Boxing for all the opportunities over the years since being 13 years old" He then went on to say "I would like to thank every coach on the programme over the years who gave me their time and knowledge".

It's no secret that Cory has gained a lot of experience and knowledge from his amateur days. He's now more than ready to make the big step up.

Cory has been a MountForce Athelete since the 23rd of June 2025. Within this time-frame, he's grown rapidly - from 4,000 followers to now 16,000 on Instagram.

Cory thanked his supporters "The support from every one of you really doesn't go unnoticed."
